Memorial
Lois Marie Myers, 82, of Heritage Nursing & Rehab, died there, Tuesday, October 6, 2009. Services: 1 p.m. Friday at Cedar Memorial Westside Chapel, 1221 – 1st Avenue SW, by the Rev. Jonathan Offt. Interment: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 11 to 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Survivors include her daughter, Karon (Bill) Ireland of Cedar Rapids; three granddaughters, Dawn (Bryan) Griffith, Sheri (Todd) Howe, and Tracy (Eric) Spray; two brothers, Glenn (Betty) Kurth of Lisbon and Garold (Wanita) Kurth of Loveland, CO; and ten great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers; husband, Raymond; and a son, Walter “Bud” Myers.
Lois was born December 18, 1926 to Walter and Marie Kurth in Monticello, Iowa. She married Raymond Myers on November 17, 1946 in Stanwood, Iowa. He died in 1989. She was a dress buyer for Armstrongs for over 35 years before retiring. Lois was an avid Cubs and Hawkeye fan.
The family would like to thank the staff of Heritage Nursing & Rehab, especially Lois’ nurses for the wonderful loving care she was given.
