Berniece M. Paterson, 87, of Cedar Rapids died September 22, 2009 at Garnet Place following an extended illness. Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM, Thursday, September 24, 2009 at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Rev. William Warhover of Echo Hill Presbyterian Church will officiate. Visitation will take place after 2:00 PM on Thursday at the chapel. Interment will take place at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.

Surviving are her brother Roland Lee Reece and wife Nora of Cedar Rapids; sisters Yvonne Warren of Orange, CA, and Crystal Stoner of Waterloo. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and sisters Jean Fischel and Rosalie McAtee.

Berniece was born December 1, 1921 in Walker the daughter of Henry and Caroline (Putnam) Reece. She married Carl D. Paterson on June 7, 1943 in Cedar Rapids. She was employed at F.W. Means Company for many years. She was a long time member of Echo Hill Presbyterian Church.
