Anna Maude Fenicle Taylor Scales, 87, of Meadowview Memory Care Center, Cedar Rapids, died at St. Luke’s Memorial Hospital Sept. 12, 2009, following a sudden illness. Visitation will be at the Koehler Funeral Home,304 East Main Street Boonville, IN 47601 on Thursday, Sept. 17 from 4 to 8 PM. Services will be held Friday, Sept. 18, 10:00 AM at Ebenezer General Baptist Church in Warrick County, IN. Burial: Bethabara Cemetery, Tennyson, Indiana.
Maudie was born on March 24, 1922 in Gibson County, IN, the daughter of the late Edward West Fenicle and Tillie Nalley Fenicle. She graduated from Folsomville High School and was united in marriage to Owen Elbert Taylor on Aug. 31, 1940. Owen and Maudie had two sons, Larry and Bruce Taylor. Owen died on March 13, 1945 in the service to his country on Iwo Jima. Maudie married Isaac Woodrow Scales on April 14, 1963 in Warrick County, IN.
Survivors include children Larry(Barb)Taylor, of Cedar Rapids, IA, Charles Scales of Warrick County, IN, Wanda Scales(Richard) Bogard, of Evansville, IN and Sharon Scales(Jim) Wolfram of Las Vegas, NV, 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; sister Helen Richards, Brown County, IN; sister-in-law Anice Scales Howard, of Lynnville, IN, and many nieces and nephews
Her parents; four sisters, Vivian Logsdon, Marcella Richards, Edna LaPorte, Margery Pierce; her son Bruce Taylor; grandson Kerry Taylor; husbands Owen Taylor and Woodrow Scales all preceeded her in death.
Her greatest enjoyment in life was to spend time with her family. Maudie was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend who will be greatly missed.
