Adrian Christopher Melsha, 31, of Goldsboro, NC, formerly of Cedar Rapids, passed away at his home residence in North Carolina, Friday, September 4, 2009.
Services: 2 pm Thursday at Cedar Memorial Westside Chapel by the Rev. William Harnish. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery with military honors. A visitation will be held after 1 pm Thursday at the funeral home. Cedar Memorial Westside Chapel is entrusted with arrangements.

Survivors include his parents, Kenneth (Kim) Melsha of Manchester and Starrene Haefner of Marion; grandparents, Sharon (Donald) Haefner of Vinton and Virginia (Don) Gabel of Hiawatha; and fiancé, Melanie Ellis of Goldsboro, NC.

Adrian was preceded in death by grandfather, Kenneth Melsha Sr.,and great grandparents, Pauline Stramel and Oletha Schulze.

Adrian was born January 4, 1978 in Cedar Rapids. He was an Army veteran, serving in Iraq for over 18 months. He was a recipient of the Purple Heart. Adrian was expecting his first child, Isabella Adrianna Melsha, in November. He loved playing his guitar and working with computers.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.
