Dear Mike- Our thoughts are with you on the loss of your mom. She was a wonderful person-I have many memories of early Sunday morning delivering papers with her.

Please know you are in my thoughts and prayers. Mary was a special person. I loved seeing her light up when she would see me walking up to the house with her mail.

My condolences on the loss of your mother. My sister sent the notice of Mary's passing and I wanted to share my history with your family. In 1951 I started carrying the Cedar Rapids Gazette in Stanwood, Iowa. Your father brought the papers to us for the more than 10 years our family carried the paper. He became a friend. We remember when he and your Mom were building their house. I'm sure he told us they were using beer cans in the walls. Fifty years later my sister bought a home with it's wall made of beer cans. We think of your parents often. May your happy memories ease your loss. Darlene
