Mary Ann Lovell, 81, of Heritage Nursing & Rehab, died there, Monday, August 24, 2009 from complications of Alzheimer’s. A visitation will be held at Cedar Memorial Westside Chapel on Sunday, September 6, 2009 from 2 to 5 p.m. Private graveside services will be held at a later date.The Cremation Society of Eastern Iowa is in charge of arrangements.

Mary is survived by children, Pat (Craig) Gardemann of Keystone and Michael Lyman of Cherokee; sister, Betty Jo (Doug) Hvistendahl of Ellendale, ND; sister-in-law, Celene Eliason of Charles City; five grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.

Mary Ann was born on April 28, 1928 in Nora Springs to Edwin and Estelle Eliason. She overcame many hardships in her life and raised two children by herself. She was a most generous person and loved deeply by her family. She will be missed.

The family would like to thank Heritage Nursing & Rehab; especially Alona for the sweetness she showed Mary Ann and Karen for always knowing how to calm Mary Ann when agitated.
