Everlye M. Muilenburg

Dear Friends in Christ; I remember Everlye from when I was one of the pastors at St. John's UMC 1981-1985! She was a great lady and a wonderful Christian. She impacted many lives and will be greatly missed. Treasure your memories of her,and keep the best of her alive in your own lives and personalities. Take care, God's Love and Peace, Rev. Mary

I have very special memories of Everlye. As a new library science graduate from UNI in Jan. 1964 I came to Davenport and worked every other week at Jefferson school for the rest of that semester before I got my own school in the fall. She was a great mentor both in the library and school system as well as in the community. She had meals with me, introduced me to St. John's, Quad-City Symphony as well as other groups and activities. We kept in touch for a number of years, but sadly have not been in touch for many years. She will always have a special place in my memories for giving me a good start in my career and the community. My condolences to the family.

Everlye was a special person with a kind heart and thoughtful ways. As a member of the Blackhawk Hiking Club, I hiked many traiils with her and even shared some campouts with her. She had a love of the outdoors and a spirit of adventure. Everlye was also a creative person as she was a member of our small craft group which became more social than productive. She will be missed, but her kind and thoughtful spirit will always be a part of me.

I taught at Jefferson Elementary in Davenport with Everlye in the 70's and early 80's. I was a young, inexperienced teacher. Everlye was always so friendly and helpful to me and my classes--always smiling and loving her books. I know she loved singing for God in the church choir. She also helped run and clean the church library. It was a priviledge to know Everlye. What a sweet lady. No doubt she is singing in heaven now.
