Marylyn J. Earnest, of 107 Wilson Ave. Dr. SW died peacefully in her sleep after a short illness at her home on Thursday July 30, 2009. Services at 10:00 AM on Tuesday at Hope Lutheran Church. Rev. Dan Clark-Bridges will officiate. Entombment at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 5 to 8 PM on Monday.

Survivors include three sons, Ron, and Gary of Cedar Rapids and Terry (Marlene) of Midlothian, Va. Four grandchildren, Beau, Georgia (Jimmy) Cole, Jillian and Austin. Two great-grandchildren, Memphis and Connor, three brothers, Roger (Karen) Spratt of Mesa, AZ., John (Rosemary) Spratt of Webster City, Iowa and Howard (Myrna) Spratt of Lexington, KY., and her sister, Melita (Willard) Selph of Warner Robins, GA. Plus many nieces and nephews. Preceding her in passing are husband, George, parents Richard and Esther Spratt, brothers, Jim (Donna), Jerry, Draper (Leola), and sister, Judith (Duane) Schlitter.

Marylyn was born on November 29, 1932 in Nora Springs and married her beloved husband, George and made their home in Cedar Rapids in 1955. Marylyn worked at St. Lukes Hospital for over 20 years, retiring in 1993.

She was devoted to her grandkids, family and including the wonderful people at Hope Lutheran Church where she was active in all aspects of church life.
