Memorial

Doris Kay McNulty, 85, of Cedar Rapids, died Tuesday, June 23, 2009, in the VA Hospital in Des Moines following a short illness. Memorial services with military honors will be held at 11 AM Monday in Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. Rev. William Harnish will officiate. Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 10 AM to service time on Monday.

Survivors include her son Steven, two daughter-in-laws Glenda and Susan, a sister in law Erma Cartano of Cedar Rapids, and four grandchildren, Jennifer, Dawn Liz, Micheal, and Shawna. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and son David.

Doris was born December 10, 1923 in Cedar Rapids to Thomas and Maude Schultz Newman. She married Edward D. McNulty on January 8, 1951 in Iowa City, Iowa. He died in 2007. Doris was a nurse at the VA Hospital in Iowa City and St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids. She was a WW II US Navy Veteran. She was a member of the Waves, Marion American Legion Post No 298, and numerous other organizations.

Her family wishes special thanks to the Staff at the Iowa Veterans Home in Marshalltown especially to Renee, and the staff at the VA Hospital in Des Moines.

Military honors will be provided by the Marion American Legion Post No 298.
