Memorial

Mabel L. Palm, 92, of 131 Meadowlark Lane NW died Tuesday June 2, 2009 at Mercy Medical Center after a brief illness. Services at 1:30 PM on Friday at St. Mark’s United Methodist Church. Rev. Elaine Jones will officiate. Entombment at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 5 to 7 PM on Thursday.

Survivors include two daughters, Linda (Joe) Michaud of Iowa City and Karen Palm of Des Moines, two brothers, Levi Isenberger of Newton, and Maynard Isenberger of Garner; two sisters, Wilma Schultz of Florida and Mildred Alstadt of Nebraska. She was preceded in death by her husband.

Mabel was born on Dec. 29, 1916 in Dixon, Missouri, the daughter of George and Minnie Dake Isenberger. She married Wentworth E. Palm on April 4, 1942 in Mason City. He died in 1999. Mabel worked at Killian's Dept. Store for 12 years in alterations, retiring in 1984. She was a member of St. Mark’s United Methodist Church and volunteered at St. Lukes Hospital for many years. She enjoyed traveling with her many friends and especially time spent with her family. Memorial donations may be given to St. Mark’s United Methodist Church in Mabel’s name.
