Arveda M. Pink, 72, of 639 Crystal Dr. NE, passed away peacefully in her home Saturday, May 16, 2009, following a long illness. Memorial Mass will be held at 1 PM Friday in St. Matthew’s Catholic Church. Rev. Mark Osterhaus will officiate. Inurnment in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation with the family from 4 to 7 PM on Thursday at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home with a family sharing time at 6 PM.

Survivors include her children Shawn Pink of Watkins, Greg (Karen) Pink of Cedar Rapids, Alison (Mark) Winn of Manchester, Iowa, Laura (Terry) Rintala of Arvada, Colorado, Jonathan Pink of Seattle, Washington, and Leslie (Matthew) Dake of Cedar Rapids, a sister Kathleen Burnside of Frisco, Texas, and brother Fred Lewis of Las Vegas, Nevada. Also surviving are ten grandchildren and two step-grandchildren.

Arveda was born May 10, 1937 in Cleveland, Ohio to Donald and Eva Geraghty Lewis. She married John J. “Jack” Pink August 11, 1962 in Medina, Ohio. She taught Fourth Grade at St. Francis Xavier in Medina, Ohio. She was a graduate of the St. Joseph’s Academy in Rocky River, Ohio. She was a member of St. Matthew’s Catholic Church. She was an avid reader and historian.

In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established.
