Gale C. Neuenswander, 84, of Cedar Rapids, died Sunday May 10, 2009 at home. Memorial services: 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Kenwood Park United Methodist Church by the Pastor Laura Smith. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Inurnment: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Jeanne, daughters, Chris (Steve) Barrett of Leland, Illinois, Randi (Rick) Roach of Syracuse, New York, Connie Nicholson of Circle Pines, Minnesota, Lori (Jon) Bratton of Cedar Rapids, one son, Gary of Skamania, Washington, grandchildren, Katie, Kelly and Dan Roach, Beth and Sara Nicholson, Lindsay Jones and Kristin Bratton and Nick and Scott Barrett and two great grandchildren, a sister, Leila Brown of Cedar Rapids and a brother, Noel Neu of Moline, Illinois.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, L.J. Neuenswander and a sister, Cleo Washburn.

Gale was born October 28, 1924 in Neilsville, Wisconsin. He was a member of Kenwood Park United Methodist Church. He served in the Navy during World War II, stationed in California and ranked as a Seaman. He was an accountant at the Electric Company in Cedar Rapids and was later a union Laborer. He helped build the Palo Nuclear Power Plant and the original Lindale Mall. After retirement he drove the Allen’s Car Dealership Courtesy Car. Gale enjoyed fishing, gardening and square dancing.

A memorial fund has been established for Isaac Walton.
