Jane Rosalie Jones, 81, of Cedar Rapids, died Sunday evening, April 26 at Mercy Medical Center following an extended illness. Funeral Mass by All Saints Parish will be held Friday, May 1, 11:00 a.m. at St. Matthews Catholic Church, Rev. David O’Connor officiating. Friends may visit with the family after 10:00 a.m. on Friday. Inurnment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Survivors include her daughter, Penny Jones and husband Richard Schultz of Minneapolis, MN, four sons, Robert Jones, Stephen Jones and Stuart Jones all of Cedar Rapids and Mark Jones and wife Debbie of Wever, Iowa. She is also survived by five granddaughters, one grandson and two great grandchildren. Jane was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Richard in 1985.

Jane was born February 7, 1928 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, an only child of Stephen and Rachel (Lattner) Pazdera. She graduated from Franklin High School and then attended Clarke College, Mount Mercy College and the University of Iowa. She married Richard K. Jones on June 9, 1951 in Cedar Rapids. She worked at Merchants National Bank as the secretary to the president. She also worked at Rockwell Collins and with the Eastern Central Iowa Council of Governments retiring in 1994.

Jane was a member of All Saints Catholic Church and St. Monica Circle. She also enjoyed history and participated in the Civil War Roundtable group. She dearly loved to cook for her family and her church family specializing in baked goods.

Memorial donations may be made in Jane’s memory to the American Cancer Society.
