Dear Mrs. Lidvall and family, I am so sorry to hear of Mr. Lidvall's passing. I am very grateful for the memories of all of the times that our families spent together when I was a child growing up in Cedar Rapids. I'm not sure that it was so great when my brother Randy and David would team up against me, but it always ended well when Mr. Lidvall and my father would come to my rescue. I look back with fond memories of being given the responsibility as a youngster for lawn mowing and watering while Jack and Darlene traveled. These seemingly small things helped forge responsibility and independence in me as a teenager. To this day when I drive by, I still think about that young tree in the front yard that Jack always made sure to tell me to water, although I think it finally was a lost cause!
