Memorial

Eleanor M. Bowser, 90, of the Keystone Cedars died there on Monday April 6, 2009 after a sudden illness. Services at 11 AM on Thursday at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Rev. Howard Chapman will officiate. Burial at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 4 to 7 PM on Wednesday.
Survivors include three sons, Gordon (Diana Lynn); David, (Linda) all of Marion; and Michael (Mary) of Atlanta, Georgia; a daughter, Janice (Jack) Gilmour of Cedar Rapids and one sister, Betty (Frank) Ross of Marion. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, an infant daughter, Barbara, a grandson, Michael McGrew and two brothers.
Eleanor was born on Aug. 18, 1918 in Marion, the daughter of Edward and Blanche Tudeen Lochner. She married Virgil L. Bowser on Feb. 4, 1938 in Marion. He died in 2008. Eleanor was a homemaker. She was a member of the Marion First Presbyterian Church and the Hiawatha Camping Group. Eleanor enjoyed ceramics, playing cards and bingo and especially enjoyed time spent with her many friends and beloved family. She was a wonderful person; kind, generous and thoughtful. Memorial donations may be given to the American Diabetes Association Iowa Affiliation or the Marion First Presbyterian Church.
