Nicholas John “Nick” Stavropoulos, 74, of 423 32nd Street SE, died Saturday, April 4, 2009, in Mercy Medical Center following a long illness. Funeral Mass will be held at All Saints Catholic Church at 10 AM Tuesday with Rev. David O’Connor officiating. Burial in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:30 to 7 PM Monday in Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home with a Wake service beginning at 5 PM.

Survivors include his wife Linda, two daughters Anne Marie Stavropoulos, and Christine (Tim) Mason, and a brother Peter (Gloria) Stavropoulos, and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Katine, two brothers, Antonio and Nick.

Nick was born September 10, 1934 in Demetra, Greece to John and Efthemia Dalamaggas Stavropoulos. He married Linda Flanagan on September 27, 1969, in Manchester, Iowa.

Nick had been employed by Penick and Ford, and ADM Corn Sweeteners. He had also been a tailor for Armstrong’s and Clancys. He was a member of All Saints Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to All Saints Catholic Church.
