Maxine M. McLaughlin
Sending thoughts and affection to John, Gena, Meredith and Tory... Maxine shared the company of fine women who laughingly referred to themselves as "Froth." We all felt that powerful circle of love, didn't we? Pretty awesome how those women cared for each other! Hail and farewell to Maxine. Hugs to you all...

To John and family, Maxine was a wonderful person to be around, and have around. She was always nice to me and so was Howard. I just want all of you to know that I am thinking about you all and you have my sympathy. Take care, Mike.

To Maxine's wonderful family: What fun to know Maxine as such a special lady. In playing bridge or at a P.E.O. meeting she was joyful, happy, concerned and sincere. It was a true privilege to share her friendship. We will miss her smile! Lovingly, Jerry Hewitt, Past President, P.E.O. Chapter JT

I have known Maxine in P.E.O. ever since she came to Cedar Rapids -- lots of years ago. She was a wonderful person to know and she always had a smile. We collected recipes for several years, and Maxine was famous for her handmade candies so I have several recipes for some of those. It was fun to visit with her whenever I was at MethWick and Maxine was just a joy to know. We have missed her at our meetings in recent years when she could no longer attend, but we have happy memories of her. I send sympathy to the family at this time.

Dear John and Family, I am so sorry for your loss. Maxine was such a wonderful person and she will be dearly missed. My late husband Jim played golf with Howard at Cedar Rapids Country Club, and at this time Maxine and I became very good friends. We went to Hawaii together and had a wonderful time. Of course, Howard had to drive... Maxine was such a great person. She would take on any challenges big or small. I have so many fond memories of Maxine and Howard. They both will be missed. I am so sorry for not being able to attend the funeral, I have a difficult time getting around. Please accept my condolences. Sincerely, Ione Freeman Cedar Rapids, Iowa

John, We are so very sorry your mother has passed away. I remember her fondly from our days on Regal Avenue and then when you moved to your nice home in Country Club Heights, to more recently, the many times we would see the two of you in church together. Marty remembers the good times your parents had with his parents at Regency. Maxine was always warm, gracious and charming. She had such an infectious smile. And, she was always so proud of YOU! We hope your faith, family and fond memories will sustain you at this time. Sincerely, Juli and Marty
