Harry A. Fox
Harry did Marion proud in both my Monday and Tuesday duplicate bridge groups. As my partner one day, I told him that I had returned to my job from lunch at Hq Marine Corps to find a note asking me to call a certain phone nr and ask for Harry Fox which I immediately did - only to be told that I was talking to the Washington D. C. zoo and they didn't appreciate my brand of humor. Harry seemed to. He was one of the good guys and will be sorely missed.

Marie, I will always remember Harry at the Bridge table. His little smile and cute laugh that was strictly Harry. Those big black glasses and yellow pants, again, strictly Harry. I suppose he would get mad at the Bridge table but I only remember him smiling and happy. We both enjoyed the goodies served for lunch. I will always remember him, and of course you, as well. I watched the wonderful video. It was great. I lost my Golden Retriever Jan. 2008. I saw in the video Harry and you had one, too. Harry will be with you in spirit forever. Sorry about his illness and death. Mary Anne

Marie, I was so sorry to hear of Harry's passing. I always enjoyed Harry so much at the bridge table. I loved his laugh and zest for life. Mike and I enjoyed our New Years Eve get togethers for bridge. Harry was a great guy and will be missed in our bridge group.

Dear Marie: Harry will be greatly missed. He was a good guy and I enjoyed his company. It was always nice to see you and Harry walk into a bridge game. I'll never forget his delight in getting the best of the "barracudas", as he called them, at the bridge table--or his distinctive laugh--or his always neat appearance wearing his sweaters and caps. I hope you found the message at the funeral service to be very comforting, as I did. Your memories will help you along your way. He left us all with good memories.

Harry was not only a friend, but also close like a brother. We were joined at the hip growing up in Marion, and experiencing all the ups and downs of the early teen years beginning in the 5th grade. The high point was being emancipated from high school together in 1946, and then joining the Navy and going through boot camp in San Diego, CA. As fate would have it, we both wound up with duty on Guam together, enjoying the tropics. Geography finally separated us when I decided to make California our home, and Harry decided to remain in Iowa and brave the winters. But we still had many long, happy visits with Harry and Marie during the following years. He just loved to beat me at a game of hearts, and then laugh about it. Harry may be gone but he will always remain in my mind with all the happy memories we shared together.

Many memories over our 61 years of friendship have come flooding back but I am grateful for the first as it is the evening I met you and Maury. Many years of friendship with Marie and you, many hard fought Hearts and bridge games, many fond memories. Be at peace, give my Mom a kiss as she greets you at Heaven's door. Love, Virginia
