Harry A. Fox, 80, of 620 41st St. NE died Tuesday March 31, 2009 at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha after a long illness. Funeral Mass: 1:00 PM on Friday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Burial with military rites at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 4 to 7 PM on Thursday where there will be a rosary at 6:30 PM

Survivors include his wife, Marie, a step-daughter, Theresa (Tim) Rowland and a step-son, Vaundon Williams II all of Cedar Rapids. He is also survived by five grandchildren, Kennedy, Adam, Matthew, Ryan, and Daniel and a great granddaughter, Mya. He was preceded in death by his parents, a step-daughter, Chris and a brother.

Harry was born on Feb. 26, 1929 in Cedar Rapids, the son of Harry and Carmelita King Fox. He graduated from Marion High School and later from the University of Iowa. Harry married Marie Lynch in Cedar Rapids. He was a CPA for Vigortone Ag. Products for 30 years and retired from there in 1981 as a comptroller. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church where he was a regular volunteer, SCORE, where he had recently received the Platinum Award, and the VFW Post NO. 788. He also was a 4th degree member of Council 909 of the Knights of Columbus, and proudly served in the Navy as an electrician during WWII. Harry enjoyed golf and belonged to several golf clubs as well as being an avid duplicate bridge player. Military rites by VFW Post No. 788.

Memorial donations may be given to Mercy Hospice in Harry’s name.
