I always told Andy he was a miracle due to all the struggles he had in his life. He gave so much to the patients at Sedlack. I had the pleasure of working with Andy for the past five years. He never gave up on the patients he worked with. His job here on earth is done and now I am sure he is at peace with no health problems and has eternal life with our father in heaven. I love Andy, and will miss him terribly.

Andy was my counselor at Sedlacek. He was a very honest, patient and the best counselor I have ever had. I had requested him personally, a decision I will never forget and always treasure. He was a strong asset to Sedlacek. He will be greatly missed but never forgotten by the many, many lives he has touched. My prayers go out to your family.

No one realy knows the impact one can have in the life of another. Such was the case when I first met Andy. I had the privledge of being mentored by him prior to his retirement and had the opportunity to witness first hand his interaction with others. I found that what he taught me has made a more effective counselor if not simply a better person for knowing him. I will greatly miss him as he was truly loved by all who knew him. God bless

Andy was an inspiration to both his clients and co-workers. His insight and understanding of human behavior and the difficulties of addiction were second to none. He is greatly missed.

Andy was everything to me and my children. He saved my life and gave me a better one. Because of him I am a better person and a mother to my kids. He had a great gift to see past the bad of people to see the good person within. Even though you are gone you will always live on in my heart. I love you Andy.

I worked in the office next door to Andy for 8 years. He taught me so much about counseling, and about never giving up or feeling sorry for yourself. There wasn't much Andy hadn't been through and he was full of good stories. He was incredibly tough, but a softie underneath. (He'd say, Bah Humbug!, but bring in homemade fudge for Christmas!) He gave his all to his work and saved or influenced countless lives as a result. His legacy will live on through others' recovery. I am proud to call Andy my friend. I am sorry to have learned of his passing so late, but still feel a void knowing he's gone. My condolences to his family.

I just found out about Andy's passing from Annie Battien a former co-worker at Sedlacek too. I am sorry for your loss. I really enjoyed Andy. He was a great story teller... Many evenings were spent discussing life in the cafeteria at dinner time with him. Andy taught and mentored me as a new counselor and really took me under his wings. My kids always liked him too. He was an example of a resilient man who endured much. He will be missed. Sincerely, Kelly Marsengill

Andy's matter of fact approach to life will remain close to my heart. He was an exceptional counselor, colleague and friend. When Andy spoke, you knew to listen. Because what he had to say would always help me learn and grow as a person. I always enjoyed our visits and phones to stay connected following his retirement. My thoughts and prayers continue for peace for Andy and for his family.

Such sadness to hear that Andy is gone. He was an awesome mentor. He taught me the power of the serenity prayer. He demonstrated to me that you just never knew what magic number someone needed so you simply could never give up. I loved the stories of him and his sisters growing up in the shack by the river. You are missed.
