Memorial

Andrew Frederick Peters Jr., of 1011 74th St NE, died Sunday March 29, 2009 in the Dennis & Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy following a long illness. Services: 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories by the Rev. Joe Kane. Visitation is today at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 4-7 p.m. and after 10:00 a.m at the chapel on Wednesday.

Survivors include his son, Andrew (Angela) Peters of Anamosa, a daughter, Jennifer Geiger of Cedar Rapids, one sisters, Sue (Fred) Halcomb of Clinton, his grandchildren, Christina, Andrew, Nicholas, and a great grandchild Sydney.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and three sisters.

Andrew was born September 5, 1944 in Clinton, Iowa, the son of Andrew Sr. and Gladys Peters. He attended the Iowa School of the Blind in Vinton, and furthered his career by attending the University of Iowa, receiving a Masters of Arts degree on August 20, 1991. Andrew worked at Mercy Sedlacek Treatment Center from 1993 until 2007.

A memorial fund has been established by the family instead of flowers.
