Frances Anderson 58, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Tuesday, March 17, 2009, following a lengthy battle with cancer. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 10:30 AM Friday at Saint Paul’s United Methodist Church. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 PM on Thursday at St. Paul’s. Arrangements by Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.

Survivors include her son Nate Sanderson and daughter-in-law Donita of Letts, Iowa, brothers Roger Blobaum of Washington DC, Reed Blobaum and Redge Blobaum both of Des Moines, Romaine Blobaum of Mammoth Springs, Arkansas, Robert Blobaum of Lorimor, Iowa, Richard Blobaum of Nebraska City, Nebraska, and her beloved dog “Gracie” of Cedar Rapids. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Bonnie Bambrough.

Frances was born January 27, 1951 in Afton, Iowa to Gus and Rosella Dreher Blobaum. She was employed as an office manager at Flemming Landscape and Irrigation Inc. She was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, and a longtime volunteer for the Salvation Army. She enjoyed reading, gardening, serving her community, and getting as much as she could out of a dollar at local thrift stores.

In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established in her name.
