Hack Lee (Hack Xayasouk) 93, of 3303 King Drive SW died in St. Luke’s Hospital Sunday, February 22, 2009 at 6 PM following a sudden illness. Services will be held at 1 PM Saturday, February 28, 2009, at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories by Rev. Mike Rassavan. Visitation at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 5 to 8 PM on Friday.

Survivors include her three sons, Meck and Malay Xayasouk, Boom and Xuan Lee, Deng and Xengdao Xayasouk all of Cedar Rapids, four daughters, Lo Thi King of Vietnam, Veng Xaykhambane of Laos, Khamphiou and Paul Pierron of Marshalltown, Oune and James French of Lake in The Hills, Illinois, 43 grandchildren, 63 great-grandchildren, and 3 great great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, 3 brothers, 2 sisters and a daughter.

Hack Lee was born as Ca Thi Hack on July 3, 1915, in Muong La, Sonla, Vietnam the third daughter of Ca Van Boun and Ca Thi Noi.

Hack fled Laos to follow her eldest son Meck to the States in 1979 and settled in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She was a beloved mother and a kind grandmother to her numerous great-grandchildren. She will be missed by many friends and family.
