Ronald P. Exline, 87, a resident of Crestview Acres Care Center, died there Saturday, February 21, 2009, following a short illness. Graveside services and interment will be at 1 PM Monday, in Mt. Ararat Cemetery in Centerville, Iowa. Visitation will be held from 3 to 6 PM Sunday in Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.

Survivors include his wife Maxine, two daughters Carleta (David) Holloway, and LaWona (Richard) Talcott all of Cedar Rapids, a son Rev. Jim (Pat) Exline of Wellston, Oklahoma, step daughter Betty (Earl) Bowers of Overbrook, Kansas, daughter in law Joan Exline of Norway, Iowa, a sister Geneva Stewart of Davenport, Iowa, two brothers Lynn (Sarah) Exline of Exline, Iowa, and Melvin (Marilyn) Exline of Centerville, Iowa, 9 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife Lucille, son Glenn Exline, three sisters, Darlene Hawkins, Marilyn Davis, and Geraldine Esenbacher, and two brothers Larry and Lowell Exline.

Ronald was born December 9, 1921 in Exline, Iowa to Lawrence and Estal Severs Exline. He first married Lucille Exline who died in 1991. He then married Maxine Pierce on November 26, 1991 in Cedar Rapids. He was employed by Collins Radio doing general plating, and also did some farming. He was a member of First Baptist Church-Church of the Brethren. He was an avid Coon hunter, a member of the Blue Tick Breeders of America, and enjoyed building homes.
