Richard D. “Dick” Ludwick 71, of 4900 Gordon Ave NW, died Thursday February 19, 2009, following a long illness. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11 AM Wednesday in Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Burial in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 PM on Tuesday at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home and at the chapel after 10:30 AM on Wednesday.

Survivors include his wife Sherri, four sons Dan(Valerie) Ludwick of Milton, Iowa, Tom (Peggy) Ludwick of Des Moines, Jody (Debi) Spencer of St. Louis, Missouri, and Greg (Linh) Ludwick of San Diego, a daughter Julie (Rick) Hubbard of St. Louis, Missouri, a sister Reva (Kenneth) Fincher of Kansas, nine grandchildren, Shane (Sarah) Spencer, Shannon (Josh) Galati, Cody (Erin) Spencer, Cade Spencer, Callie Spencer, Michelle (Jeff) Hamann, Colin Ludwick, Ethan and Orion Nguyen, and four great grandchildren Tyler and Camden Galati, and Peyton and Aiden Spencer, and his pet cat Muffin “Puffer”. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters Emma Lou Chance and Jeanne Kirkpatrick.

Dick was born December 13, 1937 in Gorin, Missouri, to Wayne and Blanche Sweeney Ludwick. He married Sharon Mittan on February 18, 1985 in Las Vegas, Nevada. He worked in production at Lefebure from 1973 to 1995, and for Rockwell Collins in production at the Cedar Rapids Airport. He enjoyed motorcycle riding, fishing, and gardening.
