Memorial

Nadine A. Schultz, 70, of 5101 Chestnut Ridge Rd. NE died Monday February 16, 2009 at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha after a long illness. Services at 12:30 PM on Sunday at Zion Lutheran Church in Hiawatha. Rev. Daniel Krueger will officiate. Burial at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 5 to 7 PM on Saturday. A luncheon will be served at the church following the services.

Survivors include two sons, Randy (Ruth) of Overland Park, Kansas, Bob (Sheryl) of Simsbury, Connecticut, and a step-son, Mark (Shirley) of Cedar Rapids. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, Andrew, Lauren, Tyler, Kristen and Alex Schultz, Bridget (Matt) Rindernecht, and Jill Schultz, one great grandchild, Jackson Rindernecht, a sister-in-law, Betty (Kent) Hill and a brother-in-law, Milo (Judy) Schultz, two very good friends, Jan Elm of Cedar Rapids and Richard Krob of Lisbon. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Nadine was born on June 24, 1938 in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Walter and Hilda Schminke Maurer. She married Larry D. Schultz on Sept. 20, 1957 in Cedar Rapids. He died in 1999. Nadine worked at Case Implement, Hapgood and Knudtson Ins., St Lukes Low Vision Clinic and most recently at Bill Brothers. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church where she was active in the LWML, alter guild, funeral coordinator, kitchen committee as well as being a member of the St. Lukes Auxiliary. In lieu of flowers Memorial donations may be given to Zion Lutheran Church.
