Patricia Lucille McDaniel, 78, was born November 28, 1930 in Chicago.
The devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend, left this life for another on February 13, 2009.

Her parents and brother Robert moved to Mechanicsville during her high school years.
A devoted fan of the Chicago Cubs, she will now always have front row seats.
Patricia enjoyed a good game of cards, trips to various casinos, fishing on a sunny morning and for a time was an avid bowler.

Patricia and Harold McDaniel moved to Hiawatha in the mid fifties.
She was preceded in death by her husband Harold "Mac" McDaniel, and her brother Robert Sorensen of Marion.

She is survived by two sons. Gary (Gail) Grunder of Colorado and David (Julie) McDaniel of Florida, one grandaughter, Kelly Edelen, also residing in Colorado, her sister in law Virgina Sorensen of Marion and two nephews, Dennis Sorensen of Cedar Rapids and Brad Sorensen living in California.

She is also survived by Lyle McNeal who cared for her compassionately for years, and her lifelong friends, Len and Althea Kuzela.

The family wishes to acknowledge the fine work of the staff of Promise House, the Hiawatha Care Center, and the St. Luke’s medical staff and hospice.

A visitation will be held at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home on Saturday, February 21st from 3 until 6 p.m.

A funeral service will be held at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories, Sunday, February 22nd at 1 p.m. A brief reception will follow.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in her name to Alzheimer’s research.
