William R. Lint, 82, of 1105 18th Ave SW, died Saturday, February 7, 2009, at his home following an extended illness. Services with military honors will be held at 1 PM Wednesday in Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Rev. Barry M. Foster of the Cedar Rapids Christian Center will officiate. Burial in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 5 to 8 PM on Tuesday and at the chapel after 12:30 PM on Wednesday.

Survivors include his wife Betty, their children, Donna Kind, and William (Linda) Lint Jr. both of Cedar Rapids, Darryl (Plaboo) Lint of Shellsburg, Sandra (Ken) Davis of Hesperia, California, Cathy (Terry) Weaver of Vernon, Texas, Elaine (Wendall) Scott of Aurora, Colorado, and Brian (Brandi) Lint of Cedar Rapids, four brothers Arnold (Jeanette) Lint of Rapid City, South Dakota, Clyde (Gloria) Lint of Gallatin, Missouri, Gerald Lint of Florida, and John (Marilyn) Lint of Clarion, Iowa, 20 grandchildren, and 31 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Helen Pettit, and three brothers Stanley, Ted, and Richard Lint.

William was born August 22, 1926 in Shellsburg, Iowa to Alexander and Margaret Usher Lint. He served with the US Army during WW II. He married Betty Lou Morrison on May 17, 1963 in Marion. He had worked as a mechanic, a machine operator at Cryovac, and at the grain elevator at Shellsburg. He was a member of the Cedar Rapids Christian Center and a former member of Hanford American Legion Post No 5.
