Kenneth L. Harford Sr., 74, of 2660 14th Ave, Marion, died Saturday, February 7, 2009, in his home from Lewy Body disease. Graveside services with military honors at 3 PM Friday in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Chaplain Jeremy Hudson of St. Luke’s Hospice will officiate. Friends may call from 4 to 7 PM on Thursday at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.

Survivors include his wife Barb, three daughters Danielle (Craig) Horak of Marion, Jeanine (Ken) Rathje of Anamosa, and Cathie Harford of Galveston, Texas, two sons James (Bridgette) Harford of Anamosa, and Kenneth (Robin) Harford Jr. of Earlville, Iowa, a step-daughter Lela (Art) Kistner of Wasilla, Alaska, two step sons, Mark (Deb) Miersen of Blairstown, Iowa, and Dale (ReNee) Miersen of Cedar Rapids, 29 grandchildren, and 24 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Sandy Labudda, step mother Ruth Harford, and step son and his wife Brian and Kathy Miersen.

Kenneth was born May 15, 1934 in Marion, to Lester and Doris Graves Harford. He was a Korea and Vietnam US Air force Veteran. He married Barbara Miersen on February 1, 1964 in Iowa City, Iowa. He was a custodian and machinist at Rockwell retiring in 1992. He was a member of Marion American Legion Post No 298, CVARC, ARRL, AMSAT, and the Handyman Club of America.
