Deeanna Johnson, 57, of Marion, Iowa, left to be with the Lord Wednesday evening, January 14 at Winslow House in Marion following a lengthy illness. A celebration of life service will be held at 10:30 Wednesday, January 21 at New Covenant Bible Church with Rev. James Wartian and Rev. Bill Randles officiating. Friends may call at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 5 to 7 on Tuesday, January 20 and after 10 a.m. at the church. Deeanna is survived by her husband, Doug, two sons, Jamie Johnson and wife Kara of Springville and Kip Johnson of Iowa City, a daughter Anna Johnson of Marion, her two foster dads, James Anderson of Florida and Richard Felter of Cedar Rapids, Doug’s parents, Harold and Harriet Johnson of Cedar Rapids, four sisters, Connie Kruger (Gary) of Idaho, Judy Carver (Richard) of Vinton, Cindy Slagle (Jerry) of Kansas and Mickey Chmelar of Keota and a brother, Loyal Fish of Cedar Rapids.
Deeanna was preceded in death by her parents, her two foster moms, Esther Anderson and Rosemary Felter and a sister Kathy Shramek.
Deeanna was born June 15, 1951 in Vinton, Iowa, the daughter of Rollie and Betty (Mullinex) Fish. She married Doug Johnson of July 12, 1975 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Deeanna loved the Lord witnessed by her care of children at New Covenant Bible Church for many years. This work suited her as she deeply cared for others. This care extended to animals as well especially dogs. She was a loving wife and mother and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
