Virginia L. Brown, 82, of Ravenwood Nursing and Rehab in Waterloo, formerly of Cedar Rapids died Monday Jan. 12, 2009 at Ravenwood after a long illness. Services at 11:00 AM on Thursday at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories where friends may call after 10:30 AM on Thursday. Burial at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Survivors include a son, Glenn (Betty) of Camanche, two daughters, Vickie (David) Hall of Waterloo, Ginni Brown of Cedar Rapids and a sister, Della Chapman of Scottsdale, AZ. She is also survived by three grandchildren, Christina Meyer, Tara Frazee and David VanDee; eight great grandchildren, Kendrick, April, Kassandra, Derrick, Jacob, Brandi, Arianna and Jax. She was preceded in death by six brothers, Charles, Glenn, Roy, Marion, Lawrence, Marvin and four sisters, Leone, Dorothy, Helen and Faye.

Virginia was born on March 4, 1926 in Marion, the daughter of Lehi and Lena Wells Williams. She married Junior F. Brown on April 24, 1943 in Cedar Rapids. He died in 1983. Virginia worked in assembly at Rockwell-Collins and retired from there after many years of service. After retirement she worked at Norands Corporation for several years. Virginia was a very gifted and talented person with her sewing, knitting, cross-stitching and crocheting. She enjoyed all types of music and especially time spent with her friends and beloved family.
A memorial fund has been established in Virginia's name.
