Gregory John “Chief” Corey, 47, of Marion, Iowa , died Sunday Dec 28, 2008 at the University of Iowa Hospitals after a lengthy illness. Memorial services will be at 1:00 PM on Friday, January 9, 2009 at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories where friends may call after Noon on January 9th. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Survivors include his mother, Cheryl Corey, a sister, Kathy (Mike) Simmons, all of Marion; two brothers, Daniel of Washington, D.C., Jason of Cedar Rapids and special friend Tamela Hawkins. He is also survived by three nephews, Eric, Nick and Paxton, and two nieces, Fallon and Brooklyn; and several uncles and aunts to include a special aunt, Jackie. He was preceded in death by his father.
Greg was born on March 25, 1961, in Moline, Illinois, the son of J. Ron and Cheryl Westlin Corey. He enjoyed riding his Harley, playing golf and NASCAR racing, especially Jeff Gordon.
