Grandpa, so many memories, so many good times. I remember the Christmas parties you and Grandma took us all to for years. We visited with Santa, watched cartoons and got a wonderful bag of goodies. I remember all our family gatherings, fishing, boating, Halloween, picnics etc. Your imitation of Woody the Woodpecker is something to never be forgotten. Life passes by so quickly, too quickly. We have a big wonderful family with many blessings. I am sorry you had to bury two of your children; a parent should never have to endure that. You will not be forgotten and I will truly miss your hugs and kisses, and your laugh. You have been in pain for years; and although we would love to have you here with us for selfish reasons; God wanted you more. I love you Grandpa, I love you very much.

John, I was deeply sadden to read about the passing of your father. While reading his obituary I couldnt help but remember(with a smile) a few of those long conversations we had when we where younger about anything, everything, nothing, family and your father asking are "you still on the phone!" So my friend, from my family to yours my I express our deepest sympathy to you and yours.

Dear John: I hope you receive this. I was home (Cedar Rapids) for spring break, and I noticed a large dumpster on the driveay of your Dad's home. When I shared that with my mom, she told me that your father had recently passed. I am so sorry for your loss. Losing our parents has to be one of the most difficult things we experience. I hope that your faith, the love and support of friends, and your positive memories of your father will sustain you during this time. Let me know the next time you plan to be in Cedar Rapids, so we can meet. Your "old" friend, Greg Conderman
