Wayne E. Lewis

What a wonderful tribute - the pictures are wonderful. Just wanted all of Wayne's family to know that we are thinking of you all. I remember meeting Grandpa Wayne years ago through Molly and it was very obvious what a special man he was. Hold onto to all of the wonderful memories you have - they will get you through the tough times. Our love and thoughts are with you and a big hug to Molly - sorry I can't be there for you.

Dear Maxine, Nancy, Jim and grandchildren of Wayne, I share your sorrow. Wayne brought so much joy and laughter into my life, I can only imagine the happy times you shared with him throughout the years. Your photo tribute is wonderful. It captures the young hopeful GI with his confident bride; the young proud father; and the loving grandfather holding his precious grandchildren. What a wonderful man and friend. He'll surely use his clout in heaven to help the Cubs get back to the World Series. Go Wayne! With loving thoughts and prayers, Sharon Scully

I was sorry to hear of Wayne's passing. We have missed seeing you at the Co Buffet when I was visiting my sister in Wellman. I have many fond memories of you, Wayne, your family and the Lewis Family. You were all so good to me. Every now and then (after all these years) once in awhile I think of something Wayne said and have to chuckle to myself. My thoughts are with all of you. I enjoyed the video! Great idea. Sincerely, Rachel

Our sympathy to you Maxine, Nancy, & Jim and your families - Our fondest memories of growing up in the 50's center around Lewis Cafe and of course Wayne, Maxine & Ruth. I'm sure Wayne got pretty sick of us - but we loved the place. You are all in our prayers. Sincerely, Ken & Sue Kempf

Dear Lewis family, We were sorry to hear of Wayne's passing. My parents had a business across from the Lewis Cafe in Wellman and we recall many memories of Wayne and the Lewis family. Wayne was always interested in sports activities and we all would head down to the cafe after a 'big win' for a free hamburger or malt that was provided for the team. The turkey dinners served on Iowa game days were the best! One could always pick up a checkers game in the back booth anytime of the day or night! I can also remember riding my bike to the Oakwood to hear the big bands warm up. Wayne was just as respected and well liked in Cedar Rapids. We enjoyed seeing the video. What a great family he had and was able to enjoy for so many years! You all have our sympathy and are in our prayers. Bob and Judy Topping

Dear Maxine,Nancy and Jim, I was sorry to hear of Wayne's passing, and am thinking of you all and your family. I have many happy memories of the Lewis family, Jim, Ruth, Wayne, and Bill, as I was growing up in Wellman, and fondly remember many fun times at Lewis Cafe! I must have played 1000 games on the pin ball machine and listened to a million records on the juke box! I also especially remember the turkey sandwiches and those egg noodles. With love and sympathy. Jim "Bean" Adams
