Matthew Christin Dias, 24, of Cedar Rapids, died Friday, October 24, 2008 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin from complications with his genetic disorder, EDS. He was born in Arlington, Texas on May 2, 1984. He attended school in Cedar Rapids at Taylor Elementary, Erskine Elementary, Roosevelt Middle School and graduated from CR Washington High School in 2002.
Visitation and Video Remembrance will be from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. on Saturday at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home with a 11:30 a.m. Funeral Mass at All Saints Catholic Church. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Matthew is survived by his parents, Dan and Mary Dias of Cedar Rapids, three brothers, Gerald Dias (Rick Zawlocki) of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Michael Dias of Cherokee, Iowa, and Marshall Dias (Sarah) of Ottumwa, Iowa and paternal grandmother, Yvonne (NaNa) Nemett of Cleburne, Texas. Other survivors include nephew and niece, Cody and Mattieson Dias of Marcus, Iowa and his uncle, Robert Weadon (Sara Beth) and aunt, Celeste Hobbs (Troy), all of Cleburne, Texas.
Preceding him in death are his maternal grandparents, T.P. and Velma Bowie, paternal grandfather, Louis M. Dias and his uncle and aunt, Richard and Penny Weadon.
