Robert J. Soukup, 75, of 493 Bonita, Hiawatha, died Saturday October 25, 2008 in Northbrook Manor following a short illness. Services: 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Entombment: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be today at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 4-7 p.m. and after 12:00 p.m. at the chapel on Wednesday.

Survivors include his wife, Judith, his children, Marie Blackburn (James) of Washington, EJ Soukup (Catherine) of Cedar Rapids, Cory Soukup (Darcy) of Phoenix, Arizona, Barry Soukup (Sheri) of Marion, Grayson Soukup (Tamara) of Las Vegas, Nevada, Sarine Soukup of Cedar Rapids, Kristian Soukup (Lisa) of Dublin, Ohio, friend, Deb Soukup of Phoenix, Arizona, a brother, Jerome Soukup of Moline, Illinois, a sister, Catherine Kaderabek of California and a sister in law, Bette Soukup of Hiawatha. Also surviving are 13 grandchildren, a soon to be grandchild, 2 step grandchildren, a step great grandchild, and several nieces and nephews.

His parents, 4 brothers and a sister preceded him in death.

Robert was born June 26, 1933 in Ridgeway, Iowa, the son of James and Marie Blackburn Soukup. Robert married Victoria Burka and they later divorced. He then married Judith Fay Eden on August 10, 1968 in Rock Island, Illinois. Robert was a sheet metal worker for 40 years. He was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church and Sheet Metal Union # 263. He was a mason and member of the Mizpah and Kingston Masonic Lodges. He enjoyed NASCAR, working crosswords puzzles and playing solitaire. He served in the Army during the Korean War.
