Memorial

Helen L. Westendorf, 97, of the West Ridge Care Center died there on Sunday Oct. 19, 2008 after a short illness. Memorial services at 3:00 PM on Friday at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Rev. James Wartian will officiate. Inurnment at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 5 to 7 PM on Thursday.

Survivors include a daughter, Karen (Bob) Drake of Cedar Rapids. She is also survived by two grandchildren, two great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, a son-in-law, Kevin Cahill, and friend, Doris (Dan) Heiderscheit of Cedar Rapids. She was preceded in death by her husband, a daughter, Verna and a son, Galen.

Helen was born on July 1, 1911 in Mason City, the daughter of Barton and Verna Ladis Delts. She married Arnold Westendorf in April of 1932. He died in 1975. Helen was a homemaker and a charter member of the New Covenant Bible Church and a member of the Witwer Senior Center. A memorial has been established in Helen’s name.
