Gladys G. Koenig, 102, a resident of the Woodlands at the Meth-Wick Community, died there Thursday, October 16, 2008, following a long illness. Services will be held at 9 AM Monday in Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Chaplain Paul Monska of the Meth-Wick Community will officiate. Friends may call at the chapel after 8:30 AM on Monday. Arrangements by Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.

Survivors include two sons James and Larry, four grandchildren, Craig Koenig, Stephen Koenig, Amy Koenig McNaught, and Stephanie Koenig, and five great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Anton and Katherine Broulik, her husband Paul Koenig, two brothers Leonard and Ernest, and one sister Matilda Kenyon.

Gladys was born August 21, 1906 in Cedar Rapids. She married Paul H. Koenig on August 14, 1928 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. She was a secretary at Merchants National Bank for many years and also farmed with her husband near Central City for 35 years.
