Beatrice E. Wood, 96, a resident of Heritage Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, died there October 8, 2008 following complications of age. Graveside Services will be held 10:00 AM, Monday, October 13, 2008 at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, Garden of Eternal Love Section. Rev. Lloyd Brockmeyer of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church will officiate. Friends may call from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Sunday, October 12, 2008 at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.

Survivors include her children Richard A. Wood and wife Janet of Cardiff By The Sea, CA, and Marsha Tschopp and husband Mark of Cedar Rapids; grandchildren Scott Wood and wife Heather of Escondido, CA, Mark Tschopp and wife Meredith of Springboro, OH, Michael Tschopp and significant other Rachael of De Moines, and Megan Tschopp of Jackson, WY; and great grandchildren Sydney Wood and Sam Tschopp.

She was preceded in death by her husband Delbert, and her parents.

Beatrice Emaline Wood was born June 3, 1912 in Guernsey, Iowa the daughter of Edward and Mabel (Johnson) Haag. She moved to Cedar Rapids and attended Cedar Rapids Business College. She was employed at Blaul’s Wholesale Foods from 1931 to 1944. She was united in marriage to Delbert E. Wood on September 10, 1932 at Rock Island, IL. He preceded her in death in 1996. She was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church for many years, and was also a member with Delbert at the Elk’s and Eagles clubs. She greatly enjoyed playing bridge, pinochle, and scrap booking. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and friend who will be greatly missed by many.
