Memorial

Richard Dean McLaud Jr., 30, of 112 Elizabeth Street SW, died at home, Thursday, October 9, 2008 after a short illness.  Services:  11 a.m. Tuesday at Cedar Memorial Westside Chapel by the Rev. William Harnish.  Interment:  Oak Shade Cemetery, Marion.  A visitation will be held after 10 a.m. Tuesday at Cedar Memorial Westside Chapel.
 
Survivors include his parents, Richard Sr. and Bonnie McLaud of Cedar Rapids; three sisters, Joyce McLaud of Cedar Rapids, Marye Ellen McLaud and Jodi James, both of Parker, CO, and; brother, Jeffrey McLaud of Cedar Rapids; and two half-sisters, Lisa and Lora Armstrong, both of Cedar Rapids.
 
Also surviving are brother-in-law, Tim James; sister-in-law, Dee McLaud, good friends, Damien Lathrop and Michael Randall; four nieces, Kylie, Mallory, Danielle, Shannon; three nephews, Ryan, Jake, and Jimmy; numerous cousins whom he loved very much; and his dog, Lady.
 
Richard was born on November 19, 1977 in Cedar Rapids.  He received a 1st degree Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do by the age of 9.  He received many trophies and awards in karate.  Richard worked in concrete and construction until becoming disabled in 2006.  He loved spending time with his family which was very important to him. He was an avid Bears fan and enjoyed the football season, NASCAR, and professional wrestling.  He loved everyone and had a heart of gold.  He will be truly missed by everyone whose lives he touched.
