Helen J. Mulnix, 90, 3750 Walker Road, Walker died Friday, September 19, 2008 at the Buchanan County Health Center in Independence following a brief illness. Services: 11:00 A.M. Monday at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories by The Rev. Gary Pilcher. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home on Sunday from 4PM to 8PM.
Surviving in addition to her husband Roxie are two sons, Roxie Mulnix, Jr. Karen of Independence and Jerry Mulnix of Central City; her grandchildren, Monty Mulnix Angie, Ronald Mulnix Kathy, Michael Mulnix Amber, Renee Spellacy, Martin Mulnix Alice and Michael VanAmburg; her great grandchildren, Ryan, Vince, Logan, Hunter, Derek, Blake, Kyla and Jena; two sisters, Betty Stoddard and Alene Roberts; a brother, Finis Wilcox June; and her sisters-in-law, Kathryn Wilcox and Phyllis Wilcox.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Gene; an infant son; a great grandson, Dalton; a sister, Minnie Sebol; three brothers, G.T. Wilcox June, Charles Wilcox and Clifford Wilcox; and three brothers-in-law, Joe Sebol, Clifford Stoddard and Verlin Roberts.
Helen was born September 6, 1918 in New Cambria, Missouri the daughter of Elmer and Goldie Meeks Wilcox. She married Roxie Kenneth Mulnix, Sr. on August 19, 1939 in New Cambria, Missouri. She had worked at Wilson Packing Plant from 1950 until 1979. She was a member of the Walker Bible Church and the CIO-P3 Union at Wilson's. Helen was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister and she will be greatly missed.
A memorial fund has been established.
