Lucille B. Jordan, 94, a longtime resident of Coggon and Cedar Rapids, died September 22, 2008 at St. Luke's Hospital following a short illness. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, September 27, 2008 at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Rev. James Goodrich of First Baptist Church, Church of the Brethren will officiate. Friends may call from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Friday, September 26, 2008 at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. Interment will take place at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.

Survivors include her daughters Joanne Jordan of Cedar Rapids, and Marlys Elliott and husband Brian of Thompson, CT; grandchildren Randal Henderson and wife Judy of Petersburg, AK, Dean Henderson of Delhi, Timothy Henderson and wife Linda of Center Point, Luther Elliott and wife Donna of Brooklyn, NY, Noah Elliott of Thompson, CT, and Jordan Elliott of Danielson, CT; great grandchildren Susan and Angela Henderson of Petersburg, AK, and Alexis, Benjamin, and Abigail Elliott of Thompson, CT; sisters Alice Richardson of Cedar Rapids and Loretta Anderson of Lamont; as well as a large extended family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Adrian, sons Donald and Lyle, brothers Merlyn and Charles, and sisters Opal and Jean.

Lucille Beatrice Jordan was born February 23, 1914 in Iowa County, Iowa the daughter of Alva and Martha McKusker McGuire. She was united in marriage to Adrian Jordan on December 21, 1932 in Cedar Rapids. She and her husband farmed for over 40 years near Coggon and Central City. They mostly farmed crops, dairy, and hogs. They truly were sustainable agriculturalists. She was a self educated bible scholar who taught bible classes in many venues. She was a founding member of Eastview Christian Church, and is today a member of the First Baptist Church, Church of the Brethren. She was also a member of the Quality Ridge Women's Club. Her greatest treasure was her family and friends. She was blessed to enjoy to the end, her rich and bountiful life.

Memorial Donations in Lucille's honor may be made to the American Cancer Society, or to First Baptist Church, Church of the Brethren.
