Darlene L. Hoeger, 75, of 714 Suburban St. NE, died Monday, September 15, 2008, at her home following a short illness. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 AM Friday in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Marion. Rev. Rodney Allers will officiate. Burial in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 4 to 7 PM on Thursday with a wake service beginning at 6:30 PM, and at the church after 9:30 AM on Friday.

Survivors include her husband of nearly 47 years Marcus, three sons Douglas and wife Christine of Marion, Steven and wife Holly of Platte City, Missouri, and Gary and wife Gloria of Chariton, Iowa, a brother Darrel Andre and wife Elaine of Marion, a sister in law Adella Hoeger of Garnavillo, Iowa, seven grandchildren, Amanda, Ali, Heather, Nathan, Katie, Lucas, and Sydney, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Darlene was born May, 20, 1933 in Mechanicsville, Iowa to Norman L. "Bill" and Bertha K. McQuown Andre. She married Marcus Hoeger on December 30, 1961, in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids. She was a medical transcriptionist at St. Luke's hospital and at the Linn County Urology. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Marion. She enjoyed cooking, reading, crocheting, and especially spending time with her family.

A memorial fund has been established.
