Memorial

Virginia F. Dyson, 92, a resident of the Hiawatha Care Center, formerly of Cedar Rapids, died Wednesday, September 3, 2008, following a long illness. Funeral Mass will be held at 9 AM Saturday in St. Pius X Catholic Church with Rev. Donald Klein officiating. Burial in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 5 to 8 PM on Friday with a Vigil service beginning at 7 PM.

Surviving to honor her memory are two daughters, Roxanne Fred Lenway of Camarillo, California, and Barbara Dale Hahn of Hiawatha, five grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sisters Margaret Montross, and Ann Hughes, a brother James, and great granddaughter Megan Hahn.

Virginia was born September 12, 1915, in Cedar Rapids to Patrick and Frances Lastuvka Hollingsworth. She married Paul A. Dyson on November 20, 1937. Paul died April 1, 1983. Virginia was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, cooking, arts and crafts, and spending time with her family especially her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.

Virginia's family wishes special thanks to all the staff at the Hiawatha Care Center, and Hospice of Mercy, for their love and support.

In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established.
