Gail A. Furnish, 83, of 1015 H Avenue NW, died August 2, 2008 at Northbrook Manor Care Center following a long illness. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, August 6, 2008 at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Friends may call Tuesday from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. Interment will take place at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.

Survivors include his children Edward Furnish of Cedar Rapids, Judy Gordon of Grandview, MO, Della McMenomy of Cedar Rapids, Diane Salehoglu and husband Hayder of Cedar Rapids, Donna Furnish of Paramus, NJ, and Randy Martinson of Baltimore, MD. Also surviving are his brother Neal Furnish of Unionville, MO and his 12 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a son Daniel Furnish, and his brothers and sisters Merieal Berry, Alvin Furnish, Neola Burgland, Geneva Perkens, Mildred Perkens, Aneta Wood, Hester Furnish, and Finis Furnish.

Gail A. Furnish was born September 4, 1925 in Unionville, Missouri the son of Otto and Anna Murphy Furnish. He was employed for 30 years at Wilson's Foods, which later became Farmstead. He was a member of the Eagles and previously the Future Farmer's of America. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, the outdoors, and spending time with family at his cabins. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan. He will be greatly missed by his family.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations in Gail's honor may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
