Dolly Rae Draker, 76, 735 Winterberry Place NE died Wednesday, July 9, 2008 at her home following a long illness. Services: 10:00 A.M. Saturday at St. Pius X Catholic Church. The Rev. Donald Klein will officiate. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home on Friday from 6PM to 8PM. A Rosary Service will be held at 5:30 PM.
Surviving are three daughters, Janet Widener Ken of Cedar Rapids, Jolene Kacere of West Des Moines, and Jackie Bailey Mike of Cedar Rapids; a son, David Draker Julie of Cedar Rapids; her grandchildren, Max Hubbard Janet, Brooke Kacere, Abby Reid Ryan, Allison Kacere, Cassidy Draker, Rylee Draker, Austin Bailey and Michaela Bailey; a great grandchild, Kalli Hubbard; three sisters, Wilda, Phyllis and Bonnie; three brothers, Richard, Mike and Jerry; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband Duane Rinker; her husband Jack Draker; her son-in-law, Chuck Widener; four sisters, Sandy, Elizabeth, Anita and Eileen; and two brothers, Stanley and Hank.
Born November 4, 1931 in Monona, Iowa, Dolly was the daughter of Raymond and Bernice Thompson Waalk. She married Jack Lincoln Draker on July 30, 1955 in Bainbridge, Georgia. Dolly was a hostess at the Cedar Rapids Country Club for 18 years. She was a charter member of St. Pius X Catholic Church, and she worked at the church for special meals. She enjoyed family gatherings, loved to bowl, was an avid reader and loved fishing. Dolly was a caring and giving person, and a dear good friend to many.
Dolly's family would like to thank Hospice of Mercy with a special thanks to Jenny, Annette, Mary and Kim. Another special thanks to those who knew and loved her, and helped along the way.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Mercy.
