Edward J. "Eddy" Keller, 80, of 23752 Gombert Dr. in Anamosa formerly of Cedar Rapids, died Sat. May 24, 2008 at St. Lukes Hospital after an extended illness. Services at 10:00 AM on Friday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Anamosa. Entombment with military rites at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery at 1:30 PM on Friday. Friends may call at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 5 to 8 PM on Thursday and at the Church after 9:00 AM on Friday.
Survivors include his wife, Angelou "Angie", three sons, Ron of Mechanicsville, Virginia, Scott Julie of Olathe, Kansas and Todd of Norwalk, Ohio, a daughter, Pam Keller of Wausau, Wisconsin and a brother, Richard Lorraine of Raeford, North Carolina. He is also survived by three grandchildren, Pamela, Shelby, Hannah and a sister-in-law, Janice Keller of Harvey, North Dakota. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
Eddy was born on Dec. 20, 1927 in Selz, North Dakota, the son of Joseph and Mary Keller. He married Angelou V. Grochow on Feb. 6, 1955 in Anamoose, North Dakota. Eddy was a retail counselor for Nash-Finch for over 25 years, retiring in 1993. He was a faithful member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Anamosa. Eddy was also a member of the American Legion and did volunteer work at St. Lukes Hospital for several years. He proudly served in the Army during the Korean War and was a captain in the National Guard for 18 years. Memorial donations may be given to St. Paul's Lutheran Church, the Jones County Regional Medical Center, the M.S. Society or the American Heart Association in Eddy's name. Military rites by American Legion Hanford Post No. 5.
