Daniel R. Davis, 58, of 518 Hearthstone Dr. NW. died Sat. May 24, 2008 at St. Lukes Hospital after a short illness. Services at 11:00 Am on Thursday at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Rev. Herbert Isenberg will officiate. Burial with military rites at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 4 to 7 PM on Wednesday.
Survivors include three sons, Jason Lisa of Blue Springs, Missouri, Randy and Johnny both of Cedar Rapids, his parents, Kenneth and Arbutus "Bootie" of Cedar Rapids, two brothers, his twin, Dennis Pat of Cedar Rapids, and Scott Birgit of Tailfingen, Germany and a sister, Roxi John McCrane of Cedar Rapids. He is also survived by four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Kenny Ray Davis.
Dan was born on May 4, 1950 in Cedar Rapids, the son of Kenneth and Arbutus Milroy Davis. He attended Washington High School. Dan was a pipe fitter and worked through Local 125 of the Pipe Fitter Union. He enjoyed the outdoors; hunting, fishing and boating. He was especially proud of his service to his country by serving in the Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. Dan was a wonderful, loving, caring father, son, brother, grandfather and friend to many. He will be greatly missed. A memorial fund has been established in Dan's name. Military rites by VFW Post No. 788.
