Glen D. Armstrong

Grandpa, I want you to know how much of an impact you made on all our lives, you left such a legacy for all who knew and loved you, No one could have been a better grandpa than you were to us. You loved each one of us dearly as we all loved you. You lived quite a life and now its time for you to rest, I know now that God does only take the best.

Uncle Glen you were my favorite Uncle...you reminded me so much of my Dad, your brother, Junior. I so enjoyed you and Aunt Grace staying with us July of 2005 at the family reunion at our home in Salem Keizer, OR. I have some great pictures of Uncle Glen with everyone that was at the reuion that I will charish the rest of my life. I'll miss you so much and I'm so sorry I didn't get to see you before you left us. To all of my cousins and family, I wish I could be with you all in Iowa but that isn't possible, unfortunately. Know that I am with you in my thoughts. All of my prayers and thoughts with you all. Hugs and kisses to you all. All my love, your cousin Pat

Grandpa, I will never forget when i was growing up, how you took me on vacations, with you grandma and Randy, like I was your own son. You always gave me the same as all the rest of your family, good and bad. You are in a good place now. No more worries we will all be fine, Thank you for being the best Grandpa a grandson could ever have. I will miss you very very much, Love, Bobby

Grandpa, I'm sure gonna miss you, but I'm glad you're in a better place, free of pain, and back to riding Big Red. You always treated all of us kids equally, making each one of us feel special in our own ways. One of my favorite memories is helping you in the garage one day I was about 5, so I'm sure I was a huge help!& you asking me if I could ride a bike yet. I said no, didn't have one, so you loaded me up in the truck & we went down to the city dump. Wow, I thought it was a treasure trove and together we found this old rusty bike with a pedal broken off. You grabbed it up, said we can fix this, and off we went. We cleaned it up, and you welded the pedal back on good as new, and I swear there was no better bike in all of Cedar Rapids. I was so darn proud of it,& I learned to ride on that bike. You taking the time to fix it for me made me feel so special, something you always did. I'll see you again someday... keep an eye out for a new bike for me, we'll go riding. I Love You Grandpa, forever. Jo aka Knucklehead

Just a note to the family. Initially, we were a little concerned when Grandma Grace called us from Quartzsite AZ and exclaimed that she had just gotten married! It wasn't long 'til all our fears melted into relief as we began to know this wonderful man. He immediately fit into our family so comfortably and was a joy to be around. Glenn has been a great friend and partner to my Grandma for many years and I am thankful for thier time together. I was very close to my grandpa and no one can take his place but Glenn has filled that hole left from my Grandpa's passing so well. I am proud to call him "Granpa Glenn" Thank you for sharing him with us for the last 25 years. Mike, Buffy, Grayson & Brittney Boren

Glen was a good companion for our mom. We had many fun times together. He was alway so willing to join our family and be a part of all of us. We had wonderful times and memories, lots of card games together. We will miss him. He seemed to love all of us as we did him. Dennis and Marcia

I have way too many memories of Uncle Glen to even begin; all of them wonderful. He was such a special and good man with the innate ability to always make you feel special and loved. Of course, the most special memories are those of my childhood when our family would spend many weekends in Cedar Rapids or Uncle Glen's family would come to Marshalltown but the one memory that stands out the most was the year Mom & Dad came to visit Vern & me in California and we took them over to Quartzsite to visit Uncle Glen & Aunt Grace. We had such a great visit and it was my last memory of having all of them together.
