Betty L. Ellsworth, 79, of 3380 Otis Rd. SE. died Wed. May 7, 2008 at her home of cancer illness. Services at 1:00 PM on Friday at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Inurnment at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 5 to 8 PM on Thursday.
Survivors include her husband, Lonnie, three daughters, Connie Beck and her significant other, Gary, Karan Denny Ruzicka all of Cedar Rapids and Dixie Mueller and her significant other, Rusty of Fairfax, two sons, Kenny Coder of Cedar Rapids and Kevin Teresa Coder of Scotch Grove, two step daughters, Lora James Cook of Manchester Donna Kelly Schmidt of Central City and four sisters, Florence, Virginia, Charlene and Pat. She is also survived by 19 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Betty was born on April 13, 1929 in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Archie and Gladys Young Hoy. She married Lonnie L. Ellsworth on Aug. 21, 1970 in Cedar Rapids. Betty was a machine operator at Wayne Manufacturing for over 34 years, retiring in 2004. Betty was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother who will be greatly missed by her beloved family and friends. A memorial fund has been established in Betty's name.
